draw the feelings | Art therapy activity

In a situation where it is difficult to contain all the thoughts, feelings and body sensations that are influenced by each other, art has a special place that allows the inner world to be expressed to the visible layer and to be observed. Here are recommendations for works through which we can express our feelings, connect with ourselves and find the forces we have built for fusion and healing.

In these difficult days we are faced with a reality that is hard to grasp, with strong emotions and mourning for a great loss. The embodiment of evil shook our earth and shook us from our place, everything became small and marginal compared to the horrors of war. At the same time, love erupted in our hearts, the ability to empathize deepened and the desire to help mobilized us all to contribute in any way for a better and safer world. Even close to six months into the war, the task of containing such powerful and mixed feelings, 'returning to normal' and continuing with life is a great challenge. Although in most cases it is likely that we will continue on automatic in our ways of coping, it is important to pay attention and be attentive to ourselves more than usual. In this period, as well as in any other period, I want everyone to know their feelings and allow themselves to process them. When you give this some kind of framework as part of a routine, it is easier to identify situations that require treatment and to introduce life changes when necessary to stay in balance and avoid aggravation or deterioration.

Art therapy is one of the prominent fields that deal with this issue and offers a variety of methods and creative ways for observation and emotional therapy, also independently at home and not only in a formal therapeutic setting. Here is a way to draw the map of your emotions and then draw intuitively and understand ourselves better. The feelings can also be broken down into much more "disappointment", "optimism" and more. But generally our feelings stem from 2 basic anxieties - the fear of death and the fear of life, to truly live ourselves in our shared world.

My emotion map

Intuitively draw the feeling that arises in you when you focus on a certain emotion. Draw how it feels "fear", "anger", "joy", "sadness", "love" and "hate". These emotions according to various scientists are actually six basic emotions in human nature. Visualize your perception of each emotion. Use art materials that invite you to create and are available to you. It is advisable to choose colorful materials such as paints Oil pastel, Markers or colors Gouache או Acrylic for a broader expression. Lovingly sharing my personal feelings that are expressed in art, you will get your feelings out of yourself.

My current feeling

Intuitively draw the emotions that arise in you, how you feel at the moment of creation. Free yourself from judgmental thoughts about aesthetics, and allow yourself to express yourself in this moment and give space to what comes out.

The location of the current emotion on the map

So after sharing how I feel, I see that I feel a lot but mostly optimistic, notice the repetition of the movements and colors, the reference to the whole composition and its parts. In my master's studies in art therapy, I studied with Professor Molly Lahad and according to him it is possible to deal with trauma thanks to the forces that are in us: גand שAll (cognition) | רAccess | EmAnd Na | חBera | דSort = "A unifying bridge". All of these are found in everyone and everyone tends to a certain direction a little more. Get to know yourself better and the world we are all in. You will ask for help to heal the heart, but only everyone can lock the heart and open it back to the world. Because only love brings love Clear your conscience and your intuition will lead you to your proper and correct path. Good luck loved ones and worthy of life.
