Some background on the Mont Marte company: The Mont Marte company grew out of a family wholesale import business. In early 2003 the founders Bob, Carol and their son Cheyenne Kent discovered the world of art. After several visits to Montmartre in Paris, they connected with the creative spirit of the artistic district and decided to bring to the world an Australian version of art supplies at prices accessible to a wide audience. "As much as Montmartre symbolizes art, we wanted the name to be Australian. So, when you speak through your nose, you say Mont Marte, different from the word Montmartre, and that's how we pronounce it" (quote from their website).
