Mont Marte gesso

You can cover the creative substrate with gesso, such as canvas, fabric Linen, cardboard or wood before painting on it, in several layers in a gradual process. The gesso is a paste similar to white acrylic paint, but allows the preparation of surfaces that are not suitable for painting, such as wood, glass and plastic, and to be accessible for painting with wet colors. The material is non-toxic water-based and dries quickly. Has a high covering capacity and high adhesion of paint particles. After painting, the paintbrush or brush should be cleaned with soap and water.

Gesso ointment can be used for painting to cover reusable canvas

Sometimes it happens that the drawing does not progress as we would like, or the final drawing does not turn out to our satisfaction. In such a case it is recommended to use gesso paste and cover the canvas. The colors on the paintings should be dry, if the paint is still fresh, the painting should be left to dry. The dry painting must be cleaned of dust, possible with a damp cloth. Then paint with gesso using a wide brush across the width and length of the fabric. If necessary, paint a second layer. Once the gesso has dried, the canvas is ready for reuse and can be repainted.

When just starting to draw and experimenting withAcrylic or boil colors, Canvas fabrics must not be used. You can use a cardboard box, coat it with a layer of gesso and paint after the gesso has dried. This method is great for performing initial exercises to get acquainted with the colors and is much cheaper than canvas fabrics.
