In painting with wet media - acrylic, gouache and water colors, it is necessary to mix the colors and reach the desired shade. It is recommended to do this using a palette for painting and not directly on the canvas or the drawing board in order to avoid dirt and mistakes. Paints for painting come in different containers, vials or jars. In the case of a jar, you can take paint directly from the jar with a brush, but it is better to avoid this and use a palette, in order not to dilute the color in the jar and to keep the original shade. In the case of a tube, there is no other way to use the color except to take it out on some surface before taking the color, and that's what the palette is for. When putting color into a palette, it is advisable to start with a very small amount and add more color when necessary. Using a palette with sockets is highly recommended for children, who tend to mix all the colors into one brown mixture.

You can preserve the colors that have been placed on the palette and have not yet dried to continue painting another time. Wrap in cling film and store in the refrigerator. This can extend the freshness of the paint by several days.
