Step-by-step female torso sculpture exercise

While sculpting the upper body, follow the marked on the human body proportions chart. The total mass or minutes of the chosen female figure is not of significant importance for the performance of the exercise.

Assemble a composition of simple three-dimensional geometric shapes made of clay: 2 large balls, with a short cylinder on them and over 2 smaller balls.

Slide and check the overall look. Rotate and work on the female torso from all directions until you reach a result that is satisfying to your eyes and reliably reflects the structure of the female body.

In the above exercise we worked on a realistic female torso sculpture that reflects the anatomical structure. As a continuation of the exercise the sculpture can be taken in a more abstract direction, while preserving the anatomical features of the image.
