Maintenance and cleaning of a round brush

The lifespan of the brush depends on proper use and maintenance. A brush can be used for a long time or destroyed after one use. A new brush that has not yet been used is highly recommended to be washed gently in running water in order to soften the fibers and prepare them for painting. The washing will also help to get rid of loose fibers if there are any and thus prevent them from falling out during the painting. It is important to make sure to use it correctly and clean the fibers after each use according to the type of paint. If the brush is not cleaned after use, the paint dries on the fibers and cannot be removed. At the end of painting with water-based paints (acrylic, gouache, watercolor), the brush should be cleaned with warm water and a little soap, rinse well from soap residue and gently wipe with a cloth. If the brush was used for oil painting, dip it in turpentine and wipe it with a cloth. In order to preserve the brush, it is very important not to leave it soaking in a container with water.
