Wooden rattle for painting for a fun creation for Purim

A rattle is a musical instrument used as a toy and a Purim accessory that makes a noise, hence its name. The rattle is built immediately with a gear wheel at the top, and a part that rotates around the gear wheel. The activation of the rattle is done by means of a swing which causes the rotating part to rotate and make a noise while rubbing it in the gear wheel. In the Jewish tradition, it is customary to use the rattle on Purim to hear Haman's name during the reading of the Book of Esther. The source of the tradition is probably the custom of writing the name of Haman on pieces of stone and beating them together until the name is erased (from the resurrection of Amalek, of which Haman is a descendant) but the custom developed and left mostly noise and hence the custom of making noise.

The art of making rattles was very common in the various Jewish communities when the rattle actually became a work of art decorated with various engravings and paintings.

When looking for a variety of creations for children, it is advisable to give them ready-made items to color, arouse interest and curiosity. Nice to combine art and music to encourage children to create musical instruments in their own personal design. Natural wood products at the end of painting and design is recommended to watch varnish and thus preserve the work for years.
