Oil pastel colors, also known as panda colors, are especially popular with children. The colors are easy to grip, oily to the touch, oily, soft, spread and mix easily. The fingers can be used to blend the layers of paint together. Oil pastel creates a fairly thick layer of paint and can be scraped using a spatula or toothpick or a special scraping tool (included in a Faber Castell oil pastel set).
