A little about registration

Drawing used in the past mainly as a preliminary technique for painting or sculpting and making sketches, but today, with the changes in the art world, drawing has a status similar to the status of painting and the distinction between them has become less clear, so drawings can be found in exhibitions.

Drawing is a special form of thought, which translates the artist's vision and perception into images on paper. The drawing combines the activity of the two lobes of the brain with the left being responsible for fulfilling the rules of proportion, perspective and light and shadow while the right is responsible for the emotional and creative expression. There are countless exercises for developing drawing in the right and left lobes, which directly affect the development of perception and building a solid and broad base for color painting and sculpture.

Drawings are usually made in black using a pencil on white paper, but the options are varied and include drawing using colored pencils, pastel chalks and charcoal on paper in different colors (e.g. white pastel pencil on black paper). It is advisable to experiment with the different means of registration and combine different papers until you find the preferred method of registration. This art kit includes drawing pencils, white chalk, natural and synthetic charcoal to get acquainted with the materials and develop drawing skills.

A little about colors

Oil paints are common in art and have been used for centuries. Oil paintings probably began in northern Europe during the Renaissance in the 15th century. The work with oil paints is done in a layered method, with the paint drying between layers. Oil paint does not dry out quickly, thus making it possible to create interesting color transitions and ratings. A layer of oil paint will dry within a few days to a week. The oil paints are very concentrated paints, so in painting with oil paints, diluents, linseed oil and turpentine are used. These materials help the oil paints to glide easily on the canvas, blend into desired shades, control the level of transparency, clarity and opacity of the paint.

Acrylic paints are comfortable and easy to use paints. Can be taken directly from the jar on almost any surface: canvas, wood, styrofoam, ceramic and even wall. You can mix colors with each other with a damp brush or using a palette, in the transition from color to color, dip the brush in water and wipe with a cloth. The drying time of a layer applied depends on the thickness, but it usually takes a few minutes to half an hour.

A little about sculpture

Clay sculpture is very popular with artists and fun for children, young and old. The sculpting possibilities are endless and the skill of sculpting in ceramic clay is simple and learned quickly, even independently. In addition, engaging in clay with the potential for therapeutic contact with clay is a sensual action, returning the creator to his initial experiences. The material allows for control and loss of control, invites concentration, meditation and a sense of inner peace. Beyond the kit itself and the sculpting experience along with the ready-made sculptures, will give loved ones an opportunity for therapeutic practice and self-development.

After finishing the work on the sculpture it should be dried for a week. It is advisable to burn if possible, or cover with a layer of glue in order for the sculpture to be preserved. You can burn with us in a studio in Givatayim or at a ceramicist in your area. After burning or covering with glue you can proceed to painting the sculpture.
